How to Reach in Arambol

By Air: International airport located in Dabolim 67 km away from Arambol Beach.

By Rail: Parnem is the nearest local railway station 12 km away and Thivim is the nearest main railhead from Agonda and the distance is 34 kms.

 By Bus: Mapusa Bus Station is the nearest big station from the Beach.And Arambol is placed on the way to the Chopdem  from Mapusa.

Description:

Arambol beach is the most beautiful beach in Goa. This beach is 16 kilometres long. It is the expansion of the coastal line of the Goan beaches. This beach is long stretch of the palm trees lined to one side and the golden soft sand to the middle and to the other end lays the deep blue sea. There are cashew tresses on one side of the Arambol beach. It is both a rocky and a sandy beach and has a sweet water pond right on the shore. It is also known to be the northernmost beach of Goa and is good for swimming. Arambol beach is quiet and calm beach as compared to other beaches of Goa. This beach is crowded with people on Sundays as the local picnickers gather here to enjoy their week end. As this beach is surrounded by steep cliffs on one side it is dangerous to swim in this area.

Climate:

The climate of Arambol Beach remains hot and humid except in winter and receives heavy rain due to the proximity of Arabian Sea. In winter a pleasant cool climate is through all around the beach.

This place is situated in North Goa, Goa, India, its geographical coordinates are 15° 42' 0" North, 73° 42' 0" East.

History:

Arambol is at the Goa border with its fresh water lagoon. A small fresh-water lake extends along the bottom of the valley into a thick jungle,just behind it.. 

Attractions and Activities around Arambol

The main beach has adequate body surfing and there are several attractive bays a short walk to the north. It is both a rocky and a sandy beach and has a sweet water pond right on the shore. It is also known to be the northernmost beach of Goa and is good for swimming.  A hot spring close to the main beach is the prime attraction of this place. Shopping is another activity taken in the beach. There are number of shops close to the main beach where clothes, junk jewelry and handicrafts can be purchased and equally exciting is eating out.

Terekhol Fort was a key Portuguese fort for the defense of Goa, on the north side of the estuary of the Teracol River, the most northern boundary of Goa. A slow walk along the shore at sunset, sea and sky. Hire a scooter for the day to explore the surrounding countryside. It is especially beautiful early in the season when the plants and fields are a million shades of green.

Major attractions and activities in and around Arambol Beach are the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Charch, Vagator, Anjuna, Keri, Dolphin convoys and taking a long walk towards north to the hilly region.

Best time to visit

Best time to visit Arambol beach is from November to February. During this time the weather is cold, and people enjoy the cool breeze coming from the sea.
